The Kickstart Project Mentoring & Leadership Day – 3rd Jan 2017

On the 3rd January 2017, sixteen of our sponsored students attended our annual Kickstart Project Mentoring and Leadership day at Kenyan Kickstart member, Serah Mucha’s home in Langata, Kenya.

The students, ranging from Form 1 – Form 4, listened to talks by guest speakers about maintaining good study ethics and a positive attitude towards learning. Head teacher of a small primary school in the Kibera Slum, Aggrey, also spoke with the students and provided them with encouragement to continue to strive for success in their studies.

Our mentoring facilitator for 2017, Serah Mucha, ensured that the day ran smoothly, with several important topics covered and individualized goals set for the new academic year. We are so proud of how far these young individuals have come in the few years that we have been a part of their lives.

The older students have become fantastic mentors for the younger students, some even speaking in front of the group to share their advice and encouragement for the secondary school experience. Thank you to all who attended the mentoring day – it was a huge success!
