Eugene

My name is Eugene and live with my family in a remote village in Western Kenya. I attended a small primary school with very limited resources and I found this very difficult. My father is a casual labourer but he is often without work. My mother doesn’t have a job, so we rely on my father’s wage to support the family. My mother is not well, but she still does all the housework and some work on the farm to help out as much as she can. I am the oldest of 3 children. My siblings are aged 12 and 4 years and we all live together in a tiny mudbrick home in the village. I applied for this sponsorship program because I want to continue my education so that I can achieve my dreams. I hope to become a surgeon when I am older so I will study hard to make this possible.
