Lucy

My name is Lucy. I was born in Lindi in the Kibera Slum. I come from a family of 6 people: four children and my two parents. My three siblings are all in primary school, and I am the first to reach secondary school. I started primary school at Mashimoni School in Kibera, but I had to move to a smaller school due to lack of money to pay school fees. We all depend on my father to support us with his local hotel business in the Kibera Slum. He earns very little so he cannot support us beyond primary school, as the fees are too high for secondary school. My future dream is to finish my education and get a good job so that I can help others.
