My name is Peter Onyango and was born in 1998. I grew up in a village known as Keinyaboli in Nyanza province, Kenya. In my life I have faced many challenges. Growing up, I lived in Keinyaboli and went to primary school there. In 2007 my father was killed in the post-election violence in Bondo. I remained with only my mother, and had little to do, as nobody could support my schooling. After the burial my mother left me in Bondo with my grandmother, as she had no money to look after me. I continued my studies in Bondo until class five. When I was in class six I moved to the Kibera Slum, attending several different primary schools until finally passing primary school with good marks. My hobby is to read storybooks, and I enjoy listening to bongo drum music. I want to work hard to achieve my dream of becoming a journalist.
