School: Bachelor of Technology (Surveying Technology) at The Technical University of Kenya

My name is Doreen and I live in the Kibera Slum in Kenya. I am one of four children. My father and mother divorced when I was three years old, and as a result, I had to live with my aunty in the Kibera Slum in Nairobi because my mother was unemployed and could not look after me. My aunty has struggled to finance my primary school expenses, as she also does not have secure employment.

I applied for this sponsorship because I want a good education to improve my future. I dream of becoming a lawyer so that I can help people who can’t afford a lawyer.

The Kickstart Project has been fortunate to develop a partnership with the One Heart Foundation - an Australian not-for-profit charity whose focus is to change the future of orphaned and abandoned children living in poverty in Kenya by developing schools and children's eco-villages.

This partnership allows us to provide tax deductible receipts for any donations made towards the Kickstart Project sponsorship program in Kenya.

The Kickstart Project also recognises Aqua Financial Services as a key supporter of the charity and a valued partner in our mission to create a brighter future for children in Kenya.
