Miriam

My name is Miriam and I was born in the Kibera Slum in Kenya. I live with my mother, father and 3 siblings in a small home in the slum. I attended a small primary school in Kibera and worked very hard to achieve the best exam marks so that I could continue my education to secondary school. Although my parents both have casual jobs, they don’t earn a lot of money. I don’t want my education to be a burden to them as they have three other children to look after. Ever since I was little I have dreamed of becoming a Pilot. I want to be able to give back to my community by starting development programmes and help those in need.
