Edward

My name is Edward and I am 18 years old. I have two brothers and one sister. We live in a remote farming village called Wongonyi. Both of my parents are farmers but they only have a small farm and don’t make a lot of money as there are very few markets in the Wongonyi area to sell produce.

My parents both struggle with health problems and are therefore not able to work on the farm as often as the need to. Due to my remote location, I walked 1.5 hours to and from primary school each day, often without school shoes.

I dream of becoming a neuro-surgeon when I grow up and to help the needy people in my community.
