Emmanuel

My name is Emmanuel, I am 18 years old and I have 7 siblings. We live together in a single-roomed home in the Kibera Slum. The house is separated by curtains and there is very little privacy or space for everyone. My mother stays home with the youngest children and my father works to support the whole family.

Unfortunately, my father lost his job recently and the family has been living with empty stomachs since. We are struggling to pay rent and I know my secondary school education is niot possible without a sponsorship. My older brother has been forced to drop out of school due to the lack of funds to pay fees.

I dream of becoming a doctor when I am older. I also want to help other vulnerable children so that they can also achieve their dreams.
