School: Mercy graduated from St Mary's Girls High School in 2022
My name is Mercy, I am 17 years old and I have 4 siblings. I live in the Kibera Slum with my family in a small single-roomed house. My dad works as a carpenter in the slum and earns very little money to support us. My family’s income is so low that we are often are forced to miss school to work in order to put food on the table and pay the rent. I has been moved to several different primary schools as the fees were never paid and I was often asked to leave.
I dream of becoming a teacher when I grow up. I hope to be able to teach children how to protect themselves and how to build a school.
