Fidel

My name is Fidel and I was born in Riruta area of Nairobi in 2008. I am the second eldest sibling in my family, with an older sister and two younger brothers. My father works as a casual labourer (Mjengo) in the Kibera Slum, but earns very little due to the inconsistent work. I started my primary education at a small primary school in Kibera, but my family later moved to a rural village in Migori County in 2019, in search of a better life. I completed my primary education at Muhuru Junior Academy in 2022. Despite scoring good marks in my primary school exams, my parents were unable to afford the high school fees, so a sponsorship was my only option.

I dream of becoming a Neurosurgeon so that I can help the poor and vulnerable children in the Kibera Slum.
