Herzon

My name is Herzon and I was born in a remote coastal village called Wongonyi in 2006. I live with my father and brother in a hand-built mudbrick home in the village. My mother passed away when I was younger, leaving my father to raise my borther and I on a single, inconsistent income. My father works hard on a small plot of land to grow crops to sell in the village, but his income is low.

I dream of becoming an Agricultural Science Researcher so that I can support my family and help the other struggling farmers in the area to support their families.

Herzon's father sees so many of the local children in our village missing out on a quality education, and continuing the cycle of poverty. He does not want this for Herzon and hopes to see him attend university so that he can be an example for his brother and entire community.
