Gogo

Gogo was born in the Kibera Slum in 2009

Gogo lives with his parents and 4 siblings in a single-roomed home in the Kibera Slum – one of the largest slums in Africa. Growing up in such close quarter, the family is very close. Gogo has a good relationship with his parents, explaining that they are always loving and supportive.

Despite their best efforts, Gogo’s father does not earn enough from his work as a casual laborer to support the family. This has resulted in a very turbulent primary school education, with several instances where he was unable to attend due to unpaid school fees.

Gogo dreams of becoming an aeronautical engineer when he is older. He would also love to start a charity or foundation to help people from the Kibera Slum access employment and education. He aims to inspire and empower this local community to become the best version of themselves.
